Braid
Accelerate cross-brand UI development with a themeable system. Build high-quality, accessible interfaces collaboratively using a comprehensive set of components.

Braid is a themeable design system created for the SEEK Group, designed to accelerate cross-brand UI development while upholding high standards of quality and accessibility. It provides a comprehensive set of components and CSS variable-based styling themes. A key focus of Braid is the simplicity and composability of its API, aiming to make its code understandable even to non-developers. This approach seeks to empower designers and developers to collaborate effectively in the same medium, using identical components. This reduces reliance on high-fidelity mock-ups before development, allowing teams to invest more time in refining the product itself rather than just the mock-ups.
To get started with Braid:
- Review the Philosophy and Guiding Principles to understand its core concepts.
- Study the Layout guide to learn about component composition and arrangement.
- Familiarize yourself with the common set of Tones (e.g., positive, critical) used throughout the system.
- Explore the full range of available components and experiment with them in the Playroom without needing a development setup.
For SEEK employees, dedicated support is available via internal Slack channels: #braid-design-support for design queries and #braid-support for technical questions.
